A BOY SCREAMS

Actors give us the best expressions. All they need is a little nudge.
This young man had come to my studio to get his acting portfolio shot. We shot the usual posey pictures that he wanted, and then I got him to lighten up and express himself as if he were alone in the room. This is one of the best shots from that series.
BIG YELLOW TAXI

I was on a work trip to Kolkatta. We were taking a short break from shooting a fancy car when I spotted the yellow taxi passing by. Couldn't help but sing... "A big yellow taxi took my girl away!"
A WELCOME SHOWER

Standing by the river side in Hampi, I spotted an elephant and his mahout going in for a bath. I watched them for a while and took some pictures. Soon they had a bunch of visitors and the elephant decided that they were in need of a shower!
CAMEL DRIVER PITSTOP

This candid was captured during an automobile shoot in Jaisalmer. The SUV was racing across the sand dunes, we had positioned ourselves at the top of the tallest spot. Between shots, I noticed that we were accompanied by some camel drivers keenly watching us at work. The camels perched themselves as the boys chatted away. That's when I shot this image.
BARE NECESSITIES

Live the simple life - eat, love, shoot!

I was sitting on the steps by the riverside when a sadhu went into the river, leaving behind his robes, his slippers... and, much to my surprise, a camera!
THE SOLITARY THINKER

On a trip to Panhalgad fort in Kolhapur, I was walking around, admiring the architecture. I spotted a young woman sitting at the far end, below the arches, watching the world go by... probably thinking about love, life and other things.
THE OLD MAN AND THE POTS

I was on a road trip in Tamil Nadu when I spotted an old man standing in the middle of the road and chatting with his buddy. He heard my camera click and turned to look at me... so I clicked again.
IN DISCIPLINE

We were shooting a fancy car at the Queen's Necklace for an international automobile magazine. There was a sudden shower and we ran into my car to save my equipment. The others walking on Marine Drive were seeking shelter from the rain as well. But this young woman continued with her practice.
